Suplex Music is a small Toronto-based record label. At the label, we celebrate collaborational, transcultural music-making—championing syncretism in popular music. As the label manager, I solicit projects for our label and imprints (Greenlife Engineering, Arthouse Boxing, and The Umbrella), typically editing or reviewing all components of each project—issuing final approval for all productions/publications. For physical, material projects (CDs, artworks, sheet music, EPs, LPs, and so on) this includes liner notes, song notes, images, and text selection of tracks. For online archives and streaming platforms, this includes website design, major and minor texts, and the selection of audio and video materials.
